Me

Old photo of me being creepy

This is me being odd. As usual.

I'm Peter Marheine, and you're looking at my web space, which I use to store and broadcast various things.  You can see it all in the navbar up top, but it's a place for my thoughts on various things in blog form, as well as progress updates on my various personal projects, most of which involve technology.

More Me

My interests tend to be varied, but usually involve technology in some way.  You might find me programming some utility or game, or you could just as easily find me trekking outside on a wild geohashing adventure.  I spend a fair amount of time playing games as well as creating them.  You can find me on Steam, maybe other places if you go looking hard enough.

My preferred programming languages to use (in no particular order, depending on the project) are Python, C, C#, and Assembly/Assembler of any flavor.  A smoldering hate for PHP is mitigated slightly by the existence of WordPress.

As of the fall of 2009, I am a student at Michigan Technological University, studying for a BS in Computer Engineering.

Boring History

I mentioned it a little further up, but my programming really deserves more mention.  I started programming on TI graphing calculators in the summer of 2005, and quickly progressed from TI-BASIC into more interesting languages, beginning with Z80 assembly language in the winter of '06/07, around which time I discovered IRC and the many joys it offers.
From that point, my interest in technology and related topics exploded into what it is today, greatly influenced by people I met on IRC and the incredibly-geeky TI calculator programming community.  If you want to know about what it turned into, just look around this site a bit.
